Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge Leak: Water Proofing And Battery Capacity Apparently Confirmed

According to India's import/export tracker Zauba DB, it has entries for spare parts belonging to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7, tied to the model number SM-G930F. Among other parts, what stands out is the waterproof mic and sim tray.

Zauba DB also said that Samsung has ordered waterproofed components in bulk, meaning that the parts will be used for mass production. Not to forget, the Galaxy S5 from 2013 came with IP 67 rating. However, Samsung got rid of this feature in the Galaxy S6 series, GSM Arena reported. Looking at the current reports and leaks, the South Korean tech giant will bring back the water proofing feature in Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.

At this point, the only OEM that consistently churns out water and dust proof smartphones is the Japanese tech giant Sony. The latest Xperia Z5 series is no exception either. This company not only adds water proofing to its high-end Xperia Z series of devices but also on mid-rangers like Xperia M Aqua lineup.

Apart from water resistance and always-on display, FCC listing has confirmed the battery unit of the bigger of the two S7 series. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge will apparently house a 3,600 mAh battery, whereas the predecessor Galaxy S6 Edge+ came with a 3,000 mAh cell. This device and the flagship will reportedly support LTE, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth and NFC.

Samsung fans can expect the Galaxy S7 series to be unveiled on Feb. 21 and the devices will hit the store shelves on Mar. 11. Among many leaks and rumors, very recently, the live photos of Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy S7 leaked online showing the brilliant devices with a shimmery chassis and a stunning metal from running through the corners of the handsets. To top it all off, the camera bump is almost nonexistent in the upcoming series.
