DisplayMate Says The Galaxy S7 Has The Best Smartphone Display Ever

But it isn't only in raw brightness capabilities that the Galaxy S7 excels. However, this is still unconfirmed, as Samsung may well be planning to change the design of the Galaxy Note 6, seeing as how negatively fans reacted to the similarities between the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6.

The program is similar to Sprint's iPhone Forever program, which allows customers to upgrade to Apple's latest iPhone iteration each year.

With each new flagship smartphone, Samsung has found ways to improve the mobile display technology even further.

Samsung's mobile display business is thriving not just because most of other handset maker order screens for their flagships directly from the South Korean company, but because Samsung smartphones have the best displays on the market. According to Soneira, the Galaxy S7's screen impresses because components had to be scaled down by 20% compared to the Galaxy Note 5 without losing performance.

Even though people probably very rarely used it (or maybe not at all), it will probably come as a surprise for the new owners of the Samsung Galaxy S7 to realize that the OEMs default music and video players are no longer included in the new flagship.

Soneira also discovered that the Galaxy S7 brings over two important display enhancements, including the Always-On Display mode that delivers permanent notifications while barely affecting battery life. The feature is useful not only because the phone switches brightness levels automatically based on what your current lighting conditions and preferences are, but also because is conserves energy in the process. Overall, OLED technology is becoming increasingly competitive with LCD technology. The Galaxy S7 is actually closer to the Galaxy Note 5 in terms of those properties, but offers a higher pixel density because of its smaller size. For example, the Galaxy S7 is noted to be 24% brighter than its predecessor, which means a lot when it comes to visibility in high ambient light.

To be clear, DisplayMate regards the Galaxy S7 as having the best display in the OLED category.

The Samsung Galaxy Note7 (S820) Review

This year has been difficult for smartphones, which is a bit of a paradox when you consider just how much better things have gotten compared to last year. With Snapdragon 820, 650, 652, and 625 we've finally moved past the shadow of the Snapdragon 810, 808, and 617/615. While there were Android devices that shipped with the Exynos 7420, they were often paired with a modem that was not necessarily the most power efficient. Despite all of this, there seems to be a general disappointment with smartphones. People are increasingly finding it hard to justify phones like the HTC 10 or Galaxy S7 with competition from OnePlus, Xiaomi, and even Apple with their iPhone SE. In this context the Galaxy Note7 brings much of the flavor of the Galaxy S7 edge, but blends it with the S-Pen of the Note line and a few new features like the iris scanner. If you were paying attention to the industry with the launch of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note5, it's very much more of the same rather than the m
