Smartphones launched this week

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was the highlight of this week which saw mostly new devices.

It wasn't one of the hectic weeks in terms of smartphone launches but this week one of the most anticipated high end device got launched in the Indian market. But mostly this week belonged to low cost devices.

Here we have listed the smartphones which were launched in India this week.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7

The Galaxy Note 7 was launched in India at Rs 59,900 earlier this week. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 comes in Blue Coral, Gold Platinum, Silver Titanium and Black Onyx colours. The phone comes with a metal body and a 5.7-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) Super AMOLED display with curved edges on both right and left hand side. The display has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection as well. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is water and dust resistant and has got IP68 certification for the same.

The Galaxy Note 7 has been launched in India with octa-core Exynos 8890 (quad 2.3GHz + quad 1.6GHz) processor that runs this Android Marshmallow based phone with the help of 4GB RAM. The smartphone has TouchWiz UI on top and a 3500 mAh battery with fast charging technology mode. It has a USB Type C port.

The Galaxy Note 7 has 64 GB of internal storage and you can use a micro SD card of up to 256 GB in its expandable storage slot. Note that it has a hybrid dual SIM slot which means if you use a micro SD card, you have to forgo the SIM2.

It has a fingerprint sensor as well as an Iris scanner. Besides, the phablet offers Samsung's Knox security app. Apart from this, the device also features barometer, gyro, geomagnetic, proximity, and ambient light sensors.

The smartphone boasts a 12-megapixel autofocus rear camera that comes with dual pixel technology, LED flash, PDAF, optical image stabilisation, and f/1.7 aperture. A 5-megapixel front facing camera with f/1.7 aperture is there in the Note 7 for selfies and video calling. On the connectivity front, the device offers 4G, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), GPS with AGS/GLONASS, NFC and USB type C. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 measures 153.5 x 73.9 x 7.9mm and it weighs 169 grams.

Coolpad Mega

It is priced at Rs 6,999. It will be exclusively available on Amazon.in in variants of gold, white as well as black. The phone will go on sale starting 24 August 2016 via flash sale, registrations with begin from 10th August 5 PM.

The Coolpad Mega has a 5.5 inch IPS display with high definition (1280x720 pixels) resolution. It has the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with Cool UI 8.0 interface. The phone has two SIM slots and both are capable of accommodating 4G SIMS. Unfortunately, it is a hybrid SIM slot and hence if you use two SIMs, you have to forgo expandable storage.

Besides, the Coolpad Mega has 3 GB RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, a 2500 mAh battery and Mediatek MT6753P quad core processor. The phone has 8 megapixel camera both in its front and rear panels. The device is measured by 7.85 mm of thickness and is the weight around 140 grams.

Swipe Konnect Plus

The Swipe Konnect Plus, which is priced at Rs 4,999, comes in Black color with Sandstone Back Finish and is available exclusively on Snapdeal.

Swipe Konnect Plus features a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720p) display with 320 ppi pixel density and is powered by a 1.2 GHz Mediatek quad-core processor, which is paired with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system.

It comes with 16GB of internal storage. There is a micro SD card slot as well using which you can expand its memory by another 32GB. The smartphone has a 13-megapixel auto-focus rear camera. An LED flash light is also there in the back panel. This phone has a 5 megapixel front camera.

Swipe Konnect Plus is equipped with a 3000 mAh battery, which claims to offer up-to 8-10 hours of talk-time and up-to 220 hours of standby time. On the connectivity front, the device offers Dual SIM, 3G, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, micro USB port and FM radio. The handset measures 144 x 73 x 9.8 mm ans weighs 156 grams. The sensors include Proximity, Gravity Sensor, and Ambient Light sensor.

Zen Cinemax 3

Zen Cinemax 3 was made available on eBay earlier this week for Rs 5,499. The smartphone is available on eBay with a free protection kit worth Rs 499 which include a protective case and a screen guard.

The Zen Cinemax 3 has a large 5.5-inch IPS display that has FWVGA (854x480 pixels) resolution. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, which is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It has an expandable storage slot as well that can hold a micro SD card of up to 32 GB capacity. It comes with the older Android Lollipop 5.1 operating system but who can complain considering its price tag. Zen has wisely fitted a 2900 mAh battery which seems quite necessary for such a big phone.

The Zen Cinemax 3 has a 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash and a 3.2-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling. Besides, the smartphone offers auto call recorder, flip to mute, Dual SIM, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, Proximity and Gyro Sensor. Moreover, it comes with SOS feature that allows users to send location details to 5 per-defined numbers at the time of emergency.
