#GalaxyTabProS #SurfacePro4 – Head-To-Head: Samsung Galaxy TabPro S Vs. Microsoft Surface Pro 4 : Samsung Electronics wants the mobile workforce to know one thing: iIs Galaxy line is about a lot more than smartphones.
Samsung has been pushing hard – including at XChange 2016 this week – the message that its Galaxy TabPro S 2-in-1 is a good fit for on-the-go workers. Of course, it's Microsoft's Surface Pro line that proved the 2-in-1 convertible tablet concept could catch on with workers.
But Samsung's Galaxy TabPro S is "the first 2-in-1 that could truly compete against the Microsoft Surface" line, said Tim Wagner, global president for commercial mobility services at DMI, a Bethesda, Md.-based solution provider. "By doing so, Samsung should be able to grab groundswell that Microsoft has created."
The TabPro S is "the right size and has all of the right equipment under the hood," along with boasting a number of key differences from the Surface Pro 4, said Wagner, a former Samsung executive whose current firm is a partner of both Samsung and Microsoft.
Following is the CRN Test Center's comparison of how Samsung's Galaxy TabPro S and Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 compare on specs and price.
Thickness And Weight
One area where Samsung is hoping to make the Galaxy TabPro S stand out from the Surface Pro 4 is on portability. The TabPro S is 27 percent thinner than the Surface Pro 4, at 0.24 of an inch thick versus 0.33 of an inch thick for Microsoft's tablet.
The TabPro S is also a bit lighter at 1.53 pounds, compared to 1.73 pounds for the Surface Pro 4. (Measurements are for the tablet only and don't include the keyboard.)
