Reports indicate that the phablet exploded white it was kept for charging. A Korean woman has revealed on an online forum site that she had kept the Galaxy Note 7 for charging overnight.

When she woke up in the morning, she found the phone severely damaged. Samsung has confirmed that it will find what exactly caused the explosion,Korean Herald reported.

If the incident is found to be true, it could negatively hamper the sales of Galaxy Note 7. Preliminary reports indicate that the fire could have been caused by the overheating of Li-Ion battery. The user has allegedly used a microUSB to Type-C converter for charging the device.

The Galaxy Note 7 is highly popular in South Korea. Its preorders have crossed 400,000 units and Samsung has apologized to the customers on the delay of shipping preordered units, The Investor reported. It has confirmed that all the preordered Galaxy Note 7 smartphones will be delivered by the end of this month.

The Galaxy Note 7 is the first Note series smartphone to come with a dual-edge curved display. Its AMOLED display measures 5.7 inches and its supports Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1400 pixels. It is the first smartphone to come with Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

The phablet is powered by Exynos 8890 chipset in some markets and in the other regions Samsung is selling the Snapdragon 820 powered model. Both the variants feature 4 GB of RAM. It has a native storage of 64 GB. It comes preloaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.

The rear camera of 12-megapixel is enabled with features like OIS and LED flash. The front-facing camera of the phablet is 5-megapixel. It is the first Samsung phone to come with a USB Type-C reader and an iris scanner. It has a huge battery of 3,500 mAh capacity.
