Android 7.0 Nougat will be available for Samsung Galaxy Note 7 sometime in the month of October or November. The same was confirmed by Samsung to The Korea Times that the company's latest flagship, the Galaxy Note 7 will get to taste the upcoming Android version within the next two to three months. Koh Dong Jin, Samsung Mobile's President has highlighted the importance of adequate testing before releasing a new Operating System build. He expressed that his company puts more emphasis on beta testing a new ROM properly before pushing it out to the general users. This information comes just after news circulated regarding LG V20 being the first smartphone in the world to run the Android N out of the box.
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Specs and AvailabilityThe Note 7 will be available worldwide from 19th August. In India, the phone was just launched yesterday, and will be up for pre-order from 22nd August. The handset will go on sale from 2nd September at a price of Rs. 59,900. The smartphone will be available in Silver, Black and Gold color variants in the country.
The newest flagship from Samsung comes wraparound display. The screen is rounded off on both sides with sharp but less sloping curves in comparison to the S7 Edge. The Super AMOLED QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution display comes with a brand new HDR technology. With the Note 7, HDR or High Dynamic Range is first time available for a smartphone display. The feature drastically enhances the picture quality by optimizing the balance between color and brightness to best suit the human eyes. A brand new Gorilla Glass 5 covers the display.
The latest smartphone in the Galaxy Note series has two variants sporting two different SoCs. One comes powered by the in-house octa-core Exynos 8890 chipset and another sport the quad-core Snapdragon 820 chip. These are identical to the company's previous flagship, the S7 Edge. The phone has 4 GB of RAM, but a 6 GB RAM variant is reportedly in the works.
An advanced Iris scanner is present in the Note 7. The company claims to have done a lot of research and development with the new biometric security. The smartphone features an independent infra-red light source and a special camera for scanning the iris. The Iris scanner is made to be fully functional even in low light areas.
The Galaxy Note 7 is the first smartphone from Samsung to sport the latest Type-C USB 3.1 port. This will facilitate faster data transfer speeds and lesser charging time. The phone also comes with an improved S Pen which is IP68 certified water and dust resistant and can work seamlessly under water.
