Samsung Galaxy Note 6 rumours: Snapdragon 823, 8GB RAM and more

The release of Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge has set the tone of the ongoing smartphone wars after its release early this year- pushing the definition of what a smartphone should be all about.

Other details about the Galaxy Note 6 are scarce at the moment, it remains to be seen what Samsung has in store for the next-gen Galaxy phablet.

Numerous latest flagships have released with USB Type-C ports, including the LG G5, the Nexus 6P and the Nexus 5X, but the Samsung Galaxy S7 still features microUSB ports.

As for the rest of the specs of the Samsung Galaxy Note 6, rumors suggest it will come with a 5.8-inch Slim RGB AMOLED display with Quad HD resolution and a 12MP rear-facing shooter with Super OIS (optical image stabilization).

According to reports, the device is estimated to sell between 7 and 9 million units in just its first month, significantly surpassing the popularity of the Galaxy S6. It's rumoured that the Note 6 could come with as much as 6GB RAM, "sure to appeal to the power-user niche".

On the homepage of Verizon's website, a sliding advertisement reads "Buy a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge or Galaxy S7". After getting the Android 6.0 update, these devices can benefit from some of Verizon's latest services like Advanced Calling and Wi-Fi Calling.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 launch date is rumored to be in June, but if going by Samsung's traditional schedule for launching Note devices, August-September looks like a great timeframe. More rumors emerged last week, when sources familiar with Samsung's plans claimed the phablet would feature IP68 certification for dust and water resistance, as well as an iris scanner. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge with the next best score of 134,599 is at the second position.

The huge discount offered by Walmart for the price of Galaxy Note 5 also sparked the speculation that Samsung is clearing out the previous models to give way to the brand new Galaxy Note 6.

Why do Android fanboys hate admitting that Samsung copied Apple?

It's impossible to cover the mobile market without diving into the good ol' "iOS vs. Android" debate from time to time. These are the two biggest mobile platforms on the planet, so they're constantly being compared. Likewise, Samsung and Apple are the world's top two smartphone vendors, so their phones are constantly pitted against each other as well. Of course, there's another reason Apple and Samsung are often mentioned in the same breath: after entering the market, Samsung quickly grew to become the top mobile device maker on the planet thanks in large part to Apple. First, Samsung did everything it possibly could to copy Apple's iPhone and iPad. Then, it spent billions upon billions of dollars belittling Apple products in TV, online, and print advertising. Samsung spent years positioning its own devices as the cool alternative to Apple's iPhone, and its efforts paid off big time. Even now, Samsung continues to copy Apple all the time acro
