Samsung has already started rolling out Android Marshmallow 6.0 updates for smartphones like the Galaxy S5, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy A7 and the Galaxy A5. Now it has steadily started rolling out the update for the Galaxy On7 smartphone, GSMArena reports. At the time of writing though, this update is restricted to a few countries, and there is no word on when it could arrive in India.
With the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update, Samsung's smartphone will get features like Now On Tap, which scans your current screen image for relevant information, Android Doze, for better power usage and App permissions, which give users more control over the apps they use. Being a steady roll out, you should soon be receiving an update notification. In case you want to check for the update right away, you can head over to Settings > About phone > System updates > Check For Update.
Samsung launched the Galaxy On7 in India towards the end of last year, priced at Rs 10,990. At the time of filing this story, the smartphone is available for around Rs 9,500 online. It features a 5.5-inch 720p display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor, 1.5GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, and a microSD card slot. It also comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 5-megapixel selfie camera, 3,000mAh battery, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Bluetooth 4.1.
We have also come across reports recently stating that Samsung is planning on soon launching the next-generation Galaxy On7 (2016). From what we have heard so far, the Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) will come with a 4.8-inch Full HD 1080p AMOLED display, 2GHz octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. On the camera front, the smartphone is likely to sport a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The Galaxy On7 (2016) will run Android Marshmallow out-of-the-box.
