Samsung have had some real success developing populur mobile phones over the past year or so. In this article we take a look at three of the best selling models. These are the Samsung Jet, the Samsung B3310 and the Samsung S5230 Tocco Lite. Here, we will take a look at the key functions and features of these mobile phones.

The Samsung S8000 Jet is an exquisitely designed, slim-line touchscreen phone with a 5 megapixel camera. The Samsung Jet has a powerful 800Mhz processor, which makes it one of the fastest touchscreen phones currently available – hence its name. The TouchWiz 2.0 interface is ultra-smooth and multimedia applications run with the minimum of fuss. The Samsung Jet epitomises speed, quality and choice with a vivid AMOLED display and smartphone features such as multi-task manager, and Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, brought together in a sleek and compact design that measures just 11.9mm in thickness.

The Samsung Jet supports DivX and XviD for hassle free video downloading. There's a built-in Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotating movies into widescreen aspect. The picture and sound are second to none thanks to DNSe and SRS technology. Other notable features include 5 megapixel camera, WVGA display, customisable widget screen, smart unlock and built-in GPS.

The Samsung B3310 features a slide out QWERTY keyboard, which makes composing emails and texts a doddle. It also has an unusual quirky numeric keypad. Positioned to the side of the screen, the numeric keys form part of the QWERTY keyboard when the phone is open. The Samsung B3310 has direct access to Facebook and MySpace from the home screen so you can chat to friends and update your status with ease. It also supports photo sharing sites such as Flickr, you can upload photos taken with the phone's 2 megapixel camera. Other features include stereo Bluetooth, a built in music player, an FM radio and expandable memory.

The Samsung S5230 Tocco Lite lacks 3G and Wi-fi, but compared to the original F480 Tocco it's lighter and it has a larger screen, now 3 inches with a higher resolution, gesture lock and handwriting recognition. The interactive TouchWiz interface lets you customise your home screen by dragging and dropping the widgets you use most.

The screen on the Samsung S5230 Tocco Lite also has an accelerometer, turn the phone sideways and the display automatically switches to widescreen landscape mode, great for viewing movies. With a microSD card slot and an excellent video and audio player, the Tocco Lite will keep you entertained on long journeys. It also has stereo Bluetooth, allowing music and sound to be streamed wirelessly with a compatible headset.

The 3.2 megapixel camera on the Samsung S5230 Tocco Lite has smile detection, which means it will focus and then wait until your subject smiles before taking a picture. The web browser is also very good, although with only GPRS connectivity large pages could be slow to load, so only suitable for occasional use. The Samsung Tocco Lite is a fun phone and excellent value for money. It has a nice interface and good multimedia capabilities.

Why do Android fanboys hate admitting that Samsung copied Apple?

It's impossible to cover the mobile market without diving into the good ol' "iOS vs. Android" debate from time to time. These are the two biggest mobile platforms on the planet, so they're constantly being compared. Likewise, Samsung and Apple are the world's top two smartphone vendors, so their phones are constantly pitted against each other as well. Of course, there's another reason Apple and Samsung are often mentioned in the same breath: after entering the market, Samsung quickly grew to become the top mobile device maker on the planet thanks in large part to Apple. First, Samsung did everything it possibly could to copy Apple's iPhone and iPad. Then, it spent billions upon billions of dollars belittling Apple products in TV, online, and print advertising. Samsung spent years positioning its own devices as the cool alternative to Apple's iPhone, and its efforts paid off big time. Even now, Samsung continues to copy Apple all the time acro
