After features and specifications, it's time for benchmarks to leak for Samsung's Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. The pair have collectively been the part of three leaks so far. These paint a moderately impressive picture. Samsung's Exynos lineup of processors is set to dominate the Snapdragon once again. Today, we've got yet another benchmark leak for the Samsung Galaxy S8. Take a look below to find out more.
Samsung's got a lot to make up for this month. The Korean manufacturer has not only dropped the ball, but lost it as well. The company failed miserably with the Galaxy Note 7. Its de-facto head is facing corruption charges from the South Korean government. A big win is all that Samsung needs to inject confidence into shareholders, employees and fans. With the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, the company seems set to achieve all this.
Today's Antutu score further confirms that Samsung's upcoming smartphone will set the new bar for performance. The video below shows a device dubbed SM-G950, scores 205,284 points in Antutu. G950 is the codename for the Galaxy S8 and has surfaced in previous benchmarks as well. At this point, we're not sure which processor the smartphone is running.
The current leader for Antutu is the Apple iPhone 7 Plus. Cupertino upgraded the A10 Fusion processor to four cores on the device, making it the first such offering from the company. The Galaxy S8's score today comfortably beats the iPhone 7 Plus, which scores in the ballpark of 180,000. Of course, since we haven't had a chance to test the device ourselves yet, do keep a pinch of salt nearby. Still, it's an impressive score, one that 10nm processors will be able to achieve with ease.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will bring a lot of upgrades to the table. The Korean tech giant will overhaul design by quite a bit this year. The front of the devices will feature an 18:9 aspect ration, and will remove all physical buttons. The fingerprint sensor will shift to the rear and the pair will be available in seven colors.
