Now Samsung Releases its Private News App for Galaxy Users

News is something we come across daily and the way we get acquainted with the things happening around us has changed in a big way. Lives have become fast and nobody really has the time to go through newspapers until and unless it's a weekend. This is the reason why big companies are betting on news related features on smartphones. News apps have recently garnered a lot of popularity, thanks to the relatively new features which the company are betting on so as to entice more users towards them.

Samsung, for the same reason, has made an announcement that it will forge an alliance with a European publisher Axel Springer so as to develop a brand new news platform which will be called UPDAY. This aggregated news app will basically offer two sections namely; 'Need to Know' and 'Want to Know.' While the former will be curated by a local editorial team, the latter will get generated on the basis of an algorithm.

This announcement surprisingly comes a few weeks after Apple's decision of unveiling their own news app called Apple News that will make its debut on iOS 9. As of now, very little info is available about the news publishers that will get featured on Upday. It also looks like Samsung only plans to release this app on Galaxy phones only. The app's beta version will become available on Play Store and Samsung's Galaxy App Store on September 3.

Another surprise element is that the app will be available only for Samsung users in Poland and Germany. Worldwide launch, however, can be expected in the first quarter of next year.
