New Samsung smartphone with 3GB RAM, Android Nougat spotted on benchmarks

A new mid-range Samsung smartphone has been spotted on GFXBench with the model number - SM-G615F.

The MediaTek 6757 (Helio P20) chipset is under the hood carrying a true octa-core CPU (Cortex-A53) clocked at 2.3 GHz. It got an 840 score on Single-Core and 3426 with Multi-Core.

The SM-G615F features a 5.7-inch display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. This MediaTek Helio P20 pairs up with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage as per the GFXBench listing.

Nintendo Switch online service price pitched at around £20Switch has copped a bit of flack for fronting a weak lineup of software at launch, But Nintendo reckons it's all pact of the plan. That's a lot cheaper than Xbox One and Playstation 4, which both charge upwards of £30-a-year for access to online gaming.

GFXBench further shows that SM-G615F will feature a 12MP rear camera with auto-focus, face detection, HDR and LED flash.

In the photography department, the smartphone features a 13-megapixel camera in the front and back. The device was identified as model number "SM-G615F" and based on its specs and features, it could be the successor for the Samsung Galaxy On7 Pro, a mid-range phone that sported the model number "SM-G600F", which was released in July past year. It is still too early to tell when this yet-to-be-announced device will be coming. We shall wait for Samsung to share more details about this smartphone at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2017 starting February 27 in Barcelona, Spain. It is expected to run the latest Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. Besides, the smartphone offers Dual SIM, 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/ GLONASS, and a micro USB 2.0 port. The display, RAM, processor, and storage capacity have all improved on the new Samsung Galaxy On7 Pro 2017. Like previous year, this same model could be called Samsung Galaxy On7 2017 in other markets, but odd enough, it comes powered by a MediaTek processor instead of Samsung's Exynos. Previous leaks also suggest that the battery fueling the handset will be a 3000 mAh one.

The South Korean technology firm recently used its flexible display technology in the award-winning Galaxy S6 Edge, which has a dual curved QHD screen. However this latest patent, which was published by the United States Patent and Trademark Office, shows the company has bolder ambitions for its curved displays. The illustrations filed with the approved patent reveal a cylindrical hub, which houses the rolled display – which unfurls like a pair of window blinds. The Samsung Galaxy Note7 (S820) Review

This year has been difficult for smartphones, which is a bit of a paradox when you consider just how much better things have gotten compared to last year. With Snapdragon 820, 650, 652, and 625 we've finally moved past the shadow of the Snapdragon 810, 808, and 617/615. While there were Android devices that shipped with the Exynos 7420, they were often paired with a modem that was not necessarily the most power efficient. Despite all of this, there seems to be a general disappointment with smartphones. People are increasingly finding it hard to justify phones like the HTC 10 or Galaxy S7 with competition from OnePlus, Xiaomi, and even Apple with their iPhone SE. In this context the Galaxy Note7 brings much of the flavor of the Galaxy S7 edge, but blends it with the S-Pen of the Note line and a few new features like the iris scanner. If you were paying attention to the industry with the launch of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note5, it's very much more of the same rather than the m
