While Samsung is searching for a radical new smartphone form factor that could capture the consumer's imagination away from the iPhone, Samsung's new mobile division president noted earlier this month that 2016 would be a tough year.
Anonymous sources told the Wall Street Journal that there will be two editions of the phone - one with a flat screen, and a premium version with a curved-screen.
In another move aimed towards ensuring that its devices remain equipped with the latest in tech (read that "in sync with Apple"), Samsung Inc. may introduce 3-D touch to its range of smartphones, starting with the company's next flagship phone, the Galaxy S7.
The features that are expected to give the Galaxy S7 a boost in the market include faster Snapdragon 820 processor, which would mark a dramatic improvement over other Galaxy phones.
According to CNET, the Galaxy S7 is rumored to also bring back the microSD card slot and launch at least 10 percent cheaper than the S6.
Tipster @evleaks said that the Samsung Galaxy S7 will have four variations: the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Plus, Galaxy S7 Edge, and Galaxy S7 Edge Plus.
The Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge will be relatively similar to their predecessors.
Samsung Galaxy S 6 edge launch in New York City on April 7, 2015 in New York City. Samsung is already talking about "3D" touch technology, and an improved camera that functions excellently in both no light and low light situations. Rather than having to tap on an on-screen button, for example, to preview a text message, website, or email, iPhone 6s users can press on the screen slightly harder than a normal tap. Rumors say that the smaller S7 will have a 5.1-inch display. Then again, earlier in June we also learned that Samsung could finally implement iris recognition on some of its 2016 smartphones, and today's fresh reports seem to reconfirm this possibility.
A new report (via PhoneDog) claims that the Samsung Galaxy S7 will reveal a number of additions when it's unveiled in late February, although it will look relatively similar to this year's Galaxy S6.
