New Moto G (2015) Renders Show New Smartphone From Different Angles

Serial smartphone leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer, otherwise known by his more popular Twitter handle @OnLeaks, has published new 3D renders of a device that could possibly be the next Moto G 2015.

Published via NowhereElse.fr, the images are not actually official Motorola renders. Instead, @OnLeaks says these renders were created for an accessories maker, but he suggests that they are probably "not too far from the truth."

Based on the renders, it appears that the next-generation Moto G will not look any more different from its predecessor. The upcoming smartphone, if the render is indeed close to the truth, retains the same lines and curves Motorola is known for, particularly the signature Motorola dimple with the firm's M logo on the back of the phone.

Also similar to the Moto G (2015), this new device appears to have two grills in front, although it remains to be seen what these will be for. The last Moto G was believed to have dual front speakers, but one of the grills actually served as an earpiece instead of a speaker.

One noticeable difference, however, is how thick the phone is going to be. The Moto G (2014) is 11.7 mm thick, which is not exactly slim and sleek, as the Samsung Galaxy S6 is nearly twice as thin with a 6 mm profile. Of course, the thickness of the new Moto G could only be a result of a mistake on the part of the render's creator, so we can't really know for sure until Motorola officially unveils the device.

Earlier leaks about the upcoming Moto G say the device will run on a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 from Qualcomm clocked at 1.4 GHz, which should be slightly better than the 32-bit 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 inside the current-generation Moto G. It will reportedly have 1 GB of RAM, a microSD slot for expanding storage and a removable battery.

The only major upgrade that we know so far is the jump from an 8 MP camera on the Moto G (2014) to a 13 MP rear shooter on the new device. The front camera will also get quite a boost from 2 MP to 5 MP, according to rumors.
