Many smartphone users are anxious to track down the best Android Black Friday 2013 deals for the season. Luckily there are some solid deals available, and on Nov. 26 Android Guys shared the latest information they've found about the best Android sales out there for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. There are several Samsung Galaxy S 4 deals available at various retailers this Black Friday 2013 season. Best Buy has an offer for a free unit with a 2-year contract through Sprint, AT&T or Verizon. The Staples Black Friday 2013 ad scan indicates that they will have the Samsung Galaxy S 4 with 2-year contracts through either AT&T or Verizon on sale for a penny. Walmart is offering the Samsung Galaxy S 4 for $99, but buyers also get a $100 Walmart gift card. They also have a smartphone trade-in program that may sweeten the deal. Target's offer is $39.99 via AT&T and Verizon, or $49 via Sprint. Sam's Club isn't missing out on the action, as they are offering the

Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 Update Pulled in U.S.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update has officially been pulled in the United States with U.S. Cellular confirming that its Galaxy S4 update has been halted in the same fashion as the AT&T Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 update that was stopped earlier this week. Last week, the AT&T Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 update started rolling out for its users, bringing Galaxy Gear support and Samsung KNOX security to owners of the aging flagship. The update followed in the footsteps of Galaxy S4 updates for Sprint, U.S. Cellular and Verizon, with the U.S. Cellular Galaxy S4 update rolling out only a few days prior to the AT&T roll out. Yesterday, however, we learned that the AT&T Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update had been pulled for unknown reasons. AT&T did not elaborate when we pressed for a response though it's assumed that the roll out was stopped due to issues that Samsung, and its users, have encountered. After doing some digging of our own, we were

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Update: 5 Key Details

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update is on its way though Galaxy Note 2 users still don't have a specific release date to look forward to. With rumors swirling, a Galaxy S3 update that is seeing its fair share of trouble and an Android 4.4 KitKat update that has started to roll out, anticipation amongst Galaxy Note 2 users is high. Here, we take a look at the most important details concerning the still unreleased Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 update. Earlier this year, all signs pointed to the first major Galaxy Note 2 Android update being the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update that was released last November alongside the Nexus 4. This seemed like the natural progression given that the Galaxy Note 2 launched with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on board, one of the first devices to do so, just a few weeks prior. Oddly enough, that didn't happen and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 owners instead had to sit back and watch the rumored summer months go by without an Android 4.2 J

Samsung starts promoting Android rival rival

SEOUL: Most mobile phone users have never heard of Tizen. Neither have car owners or anyone with a fridge. Samsung wants to change that. The South Korean electronics giant is in a quiet push to make its Tizen operating system a part of the technology lexicon as familiar as Google's Android or Apple's iOS. Its ambition doesn't stop there. Samsung sees the software in your car, fridge and television too. The first developer conference in Asia for Tizen wrapped up on Tuesday after a two-day run, bringing together app developers and Tizen backers from Samsung, Intel and mobile operators. Samsung did not announce a Tizen device, but it made a pitch for developers to create apps for the mobile operating system that is yet to be seen in the market. Samsung promised to give out $4 million cash to the creators of the best Tizen apps. Samsung supplied about one third of the smartphones sold worldwide in the third quarter, nearly all of them running on Google's Android. Its ear

Sorry, Google: Samsung has flat-out conquered Android

All of Google's marketing clout hasn't been enough to reduce Samsung's total dominance of its Android platform. The latest data from Localytics estimate that Samsung devices now account for 63.3% of all Android devices in the entire world, a dominant share that has left rival manufacturers far behind. All other major Android vendors are stuck with single-digit market shares including HTC (6.5%), LG (5.9%), Sony (5.6%) and the Google-owned Motorola (5%). What's more, Samsung devices account for the top 7 most popular Android devices in the world, led by the Galaxy S III and Galaxy S IV flagship smartphones. The only non-Samsung devices to crack the top 10 mo st popular Android devices are the HTC One and the Motorola Droid RAZR. Localytics' chart breaking down Android market share follows below. Android 4.4 KitKat updates approach: HTC, LG, Motorola, Samsung

Google appears to be getting serious about putting the whole modern device lineup on their newest Android 4.4 KitKat operating system software update here just days after the system was revealed in full. While you'll be able to pick up the LG-made Google Nexus 5 right this minute, each of the four major US-based manufacturers of smartphones have sounded off on when they'll be pushing the Android 4.4 KitKat update to their newest and most popular machines. You'll find Google letting it be known that their own family of devices will be first and foremost, of course. The Nexus 5 has Android 4.4 KitKat right out of the box, while the Nexus 4, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10 will be seeing the OS bump "in the next few weeks." This update from Google also suggests that that Google Play editions of the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S 4 will be ushered in just as the rest of the Nexus family sees this candy-coated change-over. Motorola has an upgrade page called Your Home

Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Update Release Date: What Not to Expect

Last month, Samsung not only confirmed the Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for arrival, it detailed some of the update's components. We also saw a leaked schedule point to updates during the month of November, a sign that a roll out is close. Here, ahead of the Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 release date, we offer some of our expectations. In September of last year, the Samsung Galaxy S3, which launched with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on board, received the bump up to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, a fairly big leap. Just a month later, Google announced a brand new Android update, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, that tacked on features to its operating system and rolled out for Nexus owners in November. At the time, most Galaxy S3 owners figured that the next update they would receive would be Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Signs earlier this year pointed in that direction as a Galaxy S3 Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update leaked and it appeared that it would arrive alongside the Galaxy Note 2 And
